It's not as if our stay in Villanua was in any way a problem, though with the luxurious benefit of hindsight, we coulda done a little better. Mind you, that would have meant missing out on the unique service on offer by the almost Manuel-like patriarch we had at our service. The meal last night was almost controlled by he - we had limited choices as we tried explaining that Miss J was not a big eater and therefore not in need of a main meal in addition to what was ...

I haven't come this far to not 'get a better view of the Pyrenees Mountains which I see in great detail during each year's Tour de France. Lourdes rests at the base of this great mountain range. I dropped Terry on this descent and was supposed to wait for him at the bottom but when I started up the Col de Tormalet which is about 14km and 12 or 1300 m of ascent, I didn’t want to slow my ...

Climbing for life

... the hard work of the sun, we did not have a clear view of the mountain and the road I took to reach the top. Nevertheless it was a great experience and I enjoyed the big effort to climb the mountain. I think I could climb him in about 1h30min if I had trained before this day. Maybe next ...
