... headed into L’Hospitalet Andorra, with a view to taking the toll tunnel through the mountains. Fortunately it was closed and we were treated to a magnificent ride over the pass on the N20 and into Spain. Swung through the enclave of Llivia and then continued onto one of our favourite roads from 2005, the N152. This road made photos in Bike Rider mag before we bought the pub, and it didn't disappoint this time.

Our seven hour road trip to Pau turned out to be 12 hours by the time we made it back to our hotel. Oh well we will know next time.

As the afternoon drew on the drama of the actual race started to unfold on the giant screen with the solo French rider riding out front being chased down by world road champion Thor Hushovd. With every kilometer that passed Hushovd got closer and closer until eventually he passed him and went on to take a memorable victory. ...
