Today we all slept in, Nicolas and Brodie till 8.30, Luca, Paul and I till 9.30! They have wooden shutters on the windows here and that definitely helps the kids sleep in! After our lazy morning, back up into the mountains we went with John and Daniela. We went to a beautiful spot where a cousin of Daniela and his family live. They have a restaurant, berry farm and donkeys. We had gone here not only to ...

After a day in the car yesterday they had plenty to burn off! Today is also Nonna Mela's 86th birthday, so we had a big family lunch at a restaurant near our house. It ...

Today we left Florence, met John and Daniela on the Autostrada (freeway) and started our 4 hour journey to Trentino, up in the north of Italy in the Dolomites. We stopped for a quick lunch half way and arrived in Fiera, Trentino around 4pm. We first went to check out the apartment that John and Daniela have bought and renovated. It is fantastic and looks so different ...

... e.g. strawberries and yogurt, cereal with hot milk, a large pot of tea made with our own (Barry's) teabags, a selection of cold meats and slices of cheese along with some bread.

I was offered a boiled egg by the owner which gratefully accepted.

When the egg arrived I decided to have more food from the buffet and just as I ...
