Spent the day catching up on some much deserved rest. Got some sun and finished reading my book, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," by Maya Angelou. I only wish I had WIFI so I could communicate, it's been 3 days now. The ship offers WIFI but it costs $.75 per minute and an additional $4 to activate an account with them. I just keep hoping that we get access at the next port. I thought I should tell you a little about our ship. It is named the ...

... in a very small town called Barletta which is where our Professor's niece, Marissa, lives! Her and her husband, Manu, were our guides for the weekend. Actually her story was quite amazing! She studied abroad in her junior year for a year in Urbino and attended an actual Italian University where she met Manu. After her year was over she went home, finished college, and within weeks bought a one way ticket to Barletta, Puglia ...

... pizza looking at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. How lucky am I!!! Spent the next couple of hours wondering around the precinct where the Leaning Tower is and waiting for my allotted time to climb the tower. My ticket also covered the church there so went in and had a look at that - stunning! No bags are allowed up the Tower as it turns out the stairwell is very narrow. They had a place to leave your bag in a locked locker which was covered by the price of your ...
