... in all we were a bit disappointed in the site. An obvious fact was the main item, the Amphitheatre was being restored....yet again another restoration. We also thought the restoration was a bit too much. Maybe you can see from the picture the roof of the seating...very nice neat gravel? Being Sunday the roads were quiet and we set off for a drive into the mountains to see the Roman city of Termessos.
The city dates from around 400BC and is set in a very odd location high on the top of a mountain pass. The road up to the start of the city is steep and clearly had the odd Roman site on route with walls etc. visible.

... there is a new tram which runs out to the Otogar) we headed back to Kaleiçi to find the old covered bazaar. We found it but it was a disappointment after the wonderful Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. Walked out of Kaleiçi I to the non tourist part of town to a recommended Pide and cafeteria restaurant. Food was great and cheap. We both had dinner for 19 TL (about $10)- can't beat ...
... really quite nicely done with lots of upmarket hotels and restaurants.
Late in the day we caught the bus home and walked down to the beach where Annie braved the sea. She tells me it wasn't that cold but I don't believe her.... I think I'll have to wait until I'm in Italy next month!
Tomorrow we are off to the mountains and for those following my passport drama they tell me it will be here tomorrow morning.
