At one village clinging to the hillside there is a party taking place, lots of villagers are gathered around tables and are eating and drinking, the main street is full of parked cars.       It's cold this morning only 15 degrees! The heater will soon warm us up!
      We are heading for an interesting town on the coast, Ayvalik, behind the sea front there is an old Greek fishing village. During the the 'War of Independsnce' in the 1920's, the Greek population were forced to abandon their homes and relocate to Levos, whilst in turn the Turks from that island were compelled to start new lives in Ayvalik.

      ... and sugar and formed into blocks, we chose the chocolate one. We set off north heading for our next stop, we climbed quite high into the hills, we passed quite a few picnic sites along the way, but opted for a spot on a wide pull of at the top of the windy road.       ... plus son and sit next to us so we set up a conversation and find they are from Sydney. We are all sitting there thinking we recognise this guy but can't place him...all through dinner we go through options as to who it might be...either a journalist or politician we think.
