... it was a bit cloudy and overcast and we couldn't see the peak - probably a good decision to not do the tour as well...
Catania is a nice quaint quiet town and wouldbe lovely in summer.
Caught the 10pm overnight train to Rome with Laura.
Overnight trains in Italy are definitely a lot more sketchy than in Germany.
I just checked out my 'stats' section and I'm quite pleased with my little blog and how much people are enjoying reading about my travels. I have over 20 5-star ratings and over 2,000 viewings. That is so incredibly awesome!
Apparently my photos are also not so bad. Travelpod has selected almost a dozen of them to be included in the daily ...
... took some really beautiful photos. I also bought some more makeup. I got sucked in by the damn marketing. 3.90 euro mascara it said on the window. Yes, I did buy my 3.90 mascara and 27 euro worth of other stuff! But I like it, and it makes me feel girly and pretty. So that's worth a million bucks. Euro, Dollar or otherwise.
I had planned (yet again, planning) to take the bus back down the huge hill from Taormina. But as I walked and walked and walked I found that I was simply ...

... disappointment we headed back to our hostel as the rain started to fall. It looks like we haven't left the bad weather behind us, yet.
We checked the weather report for the next few days and they weren't looking to good, with that in mind we decided to book our train ticket and head to Rome on the next overnight train.
We had one last day in Sicily and the weather looked like we could step out of doors. We headed straight for the bus ...
... wandern.
A lovely quaint very old area. Stayed in a lovely hotel with great attentive staff would recommend it to any couple looking for a romantic break or second honeymoon. Just off the main shopping street of Corso Umberto but found that the shopping was over priced so don't go expecting any bargains.

Hello all, I have been chilling out here in Sicily, while running back and forth between here and Naples, where I am getting Dental work done, while I am making further plans on my travels for this year. I am working on getting my entries updated and complete over the next few days and will post them soon.
Catina, Italy skip2938... so many parties. Makes Australian council elections seem so tame.
I go to the cemetery with my father and Maria Grazia on a quiet weekday, and we do the rounds of our relatives, putting fresh flowers in vases and cleaning the tombs as we go. Saturday morning is rush hour, especially at large cemeteries like Siracusa, where hundreds of cars are parked and there is almost a festive atmosphere with all the colourful flowers. The Floridia cemetery is on the edge of town and the dead have ...
