    A visit to Cagliari

A travel blog entry by jane.bezzina on Jun 16, 2015

A half day sight seeing tour of this lovely city. The Sardinian name for the city is "Casteddu" literally meaning castle. The tour takes us past man made wet land within his home to hundreds of np iris including pink flamingoes. Then off to Mount Urpin to enjoy the view over Cagliari's old town. From here we walked around the old district which is surrounded by bastions starting at the St Christina Gate. ...

It was a lovely restaurant with good service.

Later on as we got back to our unit in Molentargius ,we saw pretty pink Flamingos all feeding on the salt marshes right next to us. We are next to the Saline and Molentargius Wetland Park, home to an exceptional variety of wild birds. There are biking tracks through and ...

Our entree was a selection of octopus, fish like a herring and tuna in a tomato and ...

We went back down to the bar at about 6:30 for a before-dinner drink and enjoyed their happy hour again. This time they had deep fat fried olives in a really nice crust. I wish I knew how they fried these things in a crust that didn't fall off when ...

... day for each of us, but the breakfast alone costs 20 euro.

Once we got settled we went down to the bar and had a drink. It was happy hour and they had all kinds of tasty appetizers from the Sardinia area. Olives, cheeses, nuts, pizza, another type of stuffed cooked bread and deep fat fried mozzarella balls. There was also a really light crisp bread that Eldon loved.

We went down for dinner around 8:00. Since we ...
