... am used to being looked at differently when I come to China. I rarely notice it any more. But at times on this trip, it became a bit overwhelming. One such place was Xilin Hot in Inner Mongolia! I could not go more than 5 feet without another group of giggling locals shyly coming up and wanting me in a photo with them! I have had parents push shy kids towards me to practice a ...

I have included yesterday's evening in Xiamen, after returning from the round houses into today's post. This brings me up-to-date and on the eve of my rail trip tonight that starts here in Xiamen and ends in Beijing 33 hours later!

The high school, university and beautiful grounds were given as a gift to China in this area in 1913 by ...

"Today I spent the day with 2 Chinese students. They first took me to a library which bored me but they then took me shopping. I went back to Jasmine's house where her mum taught me how to make dumplings. They were very tasty. It was quite a challenge though as her parents spoke no English. We then travelled from island to island, to ...

    Whassup homies!!

The last few days have been a bit of a blur, and we have had limited access to Wifi, so here's a wee summary of our last few days.

"Our last day in Yuxi, it certainly didnt feel like that. First thing we ventured off to a sweet factory which made all sorts of fruit sweets. Second we had lunch on a giant spinny table - the biggest I've seen so far! Last of all we went back to the school for PE where we played football against the students" - BigStu
