They fill up pretty quick and we were lucky to get a space. We paid €70 each. The tour included a buffet style all you can eat restaurant lunch. ... the wharf area, the baths, an eating place. Headsets tell the story in appropriate languages. It was wonderful. It had some of the smells relevant to the scene but not as many as the Yorvik Viking Centre. Still, it gave a pretty good rendition of what Bruges was like in the Middle Ages.

At the end, there was an interactive quiz on what we'd seen. Designed for kids of course, but we did it too. Sadly, Les couldn't get any ...

... like Legoland. As my eyes squinted further afield, I was even certain I could see the sea (they have a beach, you know) but blinded by the sun, the horizon smudged in to a blend of greens and blues.

As I had been one of the last in line before closing time, I was fortunate that my descent back down the 366 steps (I make that 732 overall) was obstacle free and with my legs trembling like a virgin on prom night, I took the scenic route back to my hotel ...

Before we left Germany, Steffie was talking to her work colleague who happens to be Belgian and recommended that we take a day trip out of the city to visit Bruges (Brugge). We booked in a bus trip through Brussels City Tours and at 9am headed out from Grand Place to visit Gent and Brugge. Being a multilingual tour, the guide had to speak in German, Spanish and English and we were given a pointless set of earphones to listen to 10 minutes ...

We spent the second day of our road trip with Ky and Che in Brugge. Unfortunately, we didn't see the midget or any of the other actors from the movie, but not for a lack of searching.
