The chocolate museum was interesting as it traced the use of cocoa all the way from the Aztecs to being commercialised from primarily a drink consumed by people of money and power to the solid form we now enjoy. But to be honest the only thing I was interested in was FREE SAMPLES!! The end our tour finished with a chocolatier explaining the process of making truffles…yummmmm!! He was fascinating not only for his chocolate making ...

G,day All.

To day we travel from Oostende on the coast to City of Brugge. We started the day off in Oostende and went out and took some photo,s of the water front and beach, and what a sight it was this huge promenade before you got to the beach was not expected.

... and head instead down a street full of chocolate shops and tourists. It's pretty pleasant to just walk around aimlessly. I stumble on an event in a park with lots of ethnic food stalls and music, before looping back along a river walk towards to now-open church. The stained glass windows are less vivid than in Lyon (though helped by some eventual sun) but the building is huge and highly decorated. It's a nice interlude before heading back out ...
