Hadn't intended going to Bruges today - actually thought we would spend a night in Gent. However, drove in, weather was awful, heaps of tourists and we just didn't get a good feel for the place so drove on to Bruges which was only about another 40 mins. We will never know what we missed! ... shop for my present but after trying a few on none really took my fancy. We bought some oils and an Australian bruschetta mix in one little shop and I had a new purse in Kipling as well as some very expensive soaps!

Obviously all this was interspersed with a few chocolates and another beer or two before we headed back to the hotel to drop our shopping off and get changed before our evening meal.

Ironically, given the facilities for safe, flat cycling we haven't used ours.
