    ... San Miguel markets again for a quick calamari and cheese fix then wandered the streets looking for spots for later. Eventually went back to my two favourite haunts from the first visit - tried some different tapas and local vermouth cocktail and some wine. Didn't do pig ears this time but had to Had have another torte cheese (runny on toasted bread - drool country). Nearly convinced some Australians to go the pigs ears but they ended ...

    ... settle for a soursop and mint smoothie and keep checking everything out and finally must have a sangria and some tasty morsels mixed with olives ...yum and sit amongst the masses and do a spot of people watching. ...oh the place is called Mercado S Miguel Doing well so far finding my way around, and now onto Puerta del Sol ... The heart of Madrid. Do have to stop for a bowl of fresh gazpacho ... Mmmm not bad either!! ...

    ... restaurants, it was just lovely.. Once we left the hotel again it was midday and everyone was out, the streets were amass of people, all going somewhere, it is interesting how all that energy energizes you, well us at least, because it was almost siesta time, and it would all change pretty soon. We finally worked our way thru the SIM card business, thanks to a lovely young lady at the store and were off. Walking thru the plaza we bought water from a clever lady vendor ...

    ... and showed how Spanish women put on the mantilla. Then we had a bathroom break and then walked through the narrow streets on our way to the cathedral.     I woke up sick this morning so am having a rest day in the local area. Alana and I had Spanish omelet ( potatoes in the omelet) with tomato and olive oil on toast. Yummy. I went to the hairdressers - luckily she was Romanian and could speak French, Spanish and English.
