... 60 miles to Ceret, a spot Picasso liked v much and we were rather loud guests in a local restaurant where gentil art-lovers were trying to enjoy their meal. Fortunately they turned out to be much in awe of our exploits and wished us well on our way. We will all remember our night's stay because a council bin emptying competition took place at 3 a.m, ...

One of the endearingly infuriating habits of my husband (hello dear!) is that we never stay in a hotel without moving rooms once. Or twice. The first room is too noisy ( despite having pre-requested the quietest room at the back) or perhaps it is too light or too near the lift. SPAIN - Banyoles and Poblet
I have been given a little book for Christmas by my mother called " Back Roads Spain". What a gem it's proving to be. It suggests we visit an area in the extinct volcanic zone of the Garoxta region, near to Olot. we take a walk up into the hills to visit the recommended crater of Santa Margarida. the silence as we stand in the massive crater bowl is eerie, no birds or wind and for some random reason, they have built ...

    ... the 3 glasses.

Mas Dalt has been wonderful. So charming, with lots of nice little touches, I have photographed some. Plenty of crockery, glasses and cups and cooking utensils. Plenty of toilet paper too and soap in all the bathrooms.

Everybody have been talking about where we are going in 3 years time. The vote is on Italy, even heard the little children talking about it.

Had a great evening, trying to eat and drink as much as possible of what we had ...
