July 17, 2015 Turunc to Dalyan

Frustration and a definite tinge of sadness sum up the first part of the day. The frustration revolved around poor internet connections when we had some business matters which needed attention. The sadness was because we were sitting inside whilst the family enjoyed the pool during our last few precious hours at the Loryma. Dave, Dawn and Rory went on 2½ hour walk across the headland and down to a small harbour - Iēmeler. The views made the effort worthwhile and most of it was in shady forest.

A boat taxi brought them back to Turunē. It was a very rocky path and quite steep in places so Joan chickened out after a promising start and some spectacular views. We used the boat taxi service to go across to Marmaris for an afternoon. ...

... choice for our last evening meal. We had enjoyed other dishes but the speciality dishes requiring "slow cooking" definitely needed to be sampled. We pre – ordered a lamb dish cooked in a clay pot and Serife’s personal favourite, a chicken bake. These were supplemented by meze, a chicken cooked in an iron pan and a mince pancake.

... it's our last day round this lovely pool and we need to maximise lounger time...!!! The temperature soon soars sky high up to melting point and it's not too long before we have a full house here in the cauldron. We stick with it as best we can, Elaine not even having a swim today to get every last ray of sun possible. But after a couple of hours out here we hit a snag with this sunbathing malarkey... and some of you have possibly guessed what that might ...

The campsite, under shady eucalyptus trees continues right onto a unique beach- the sand is a reddish colour which made for gorgeous sunsets. It gave the water and air a coral glow – perfect complement for the rose wine or G&T.
