Hola Amigos! We have completed dai uno (day one) in Peru. And boy what a day it has been. We arrived in Lima at 4:30am (5:30 am EST) and were welcomed with nice morning Peruvian style chill. Lucky for us we didn't have to wait too long outside, our b&b had arranged a pick up for us. And yes we were hagled by cab drivers. As we drove to Mira Flores …

Ended the afternoon at Parque del Amor overlooking the ...

... different sandwiches (one chicken and one roast beef) to split so we'd have a taste of two kinds and we ordered what were probably the best french fries I've ever had to accompany the sandwiches (which were also delicious). The four of us took our dinner to the local park across the street to enjoy the beautiful evening and eat outside on the grass - a Pervian picnic. Little did we know this was the home to what seems to be every feral cat on the face of the planet. ...

... looked like we could have leant out and touched them – the
captain didn’t seem to give himself a lot of wiggle room.

A quick cab in to the city from
the airport to the hotel everyone is staying in. First impressions were not
great – whereas Cuzco was green and mountainous, Lima is in the desert, albeit
by the coast, and it is flat, dirty and pretty unattractive. ...
