... with success. No matter, there was always a Caipirinha waiting back on the lounger to which I retired, once again a bit battered by the waves. Despite my lack of success I could see how this could be an addictive sport. It's fresh, fun and hip. It's great for the fitness (there are NO fat surfers) and you're out there taking on nature. Once you've got a board there's no further expense..the waves are for free. What a great way to exercise and to clear the mind. Back at the Pousada ...

We've had absolutely fantastic weather everyday on our trip so far but awoke to quite heavy rain this morning. This delayed our move to the beach a bit but luckily it did not go on for too long and allowed us to take a taxi out to Praia do Madeiro. To our amazement this was an even more beautiful beach than the other 3 that we'd been on in Pipa. Absolutely stunning - just how one would describe the perfect tropical beach....>2kms long, fine light ...

The agenda for this morning: sprints on the beach and swimming with the Dolphins. It was low tide at 9:30 am so we decided to walk across Praia do Centro beach to Baia dos Golfinhos and spend the morning there before the tide came in. Baia dos Golfinhos at low tide is a wide, curving, 2 km long bay of white sand backed by 30m high reddish colored cliffs. It is a beautiful spot. As we arrived we could see the Dolphins swimming in the shallow, ...

Having had such a broken night we slept late until 10 am and only just made it to breakfast. It had rained most of the night, but the day was sunny (and windy). We got our first glimpse of our Pousada and it was lovely. Set in the back streets of Pipa it was a peaceful oasis of palm trees, stone and dark wood, with a lovely little plunge pool. We didn't hang around though and went in search of a decent cup of coffee. We hadn't had one yet but miracle ...

... the pie that had a crust stuffed with Brazilian cream cheese, whatever that is. Shrimp on a pizza is pretty good but then again it's tough to dislike anything that contains copious amounts of melted cheese. After dinner, we walked over to a rowdy tent party with loud music. As we got closer, we realized it was actually two totally different tent parties, about 50 feet from each other, each with its own live band playing ...
