When the Bangkok airport official announced in her cute English that our flight would be delayed until "midnight-thirty" it should have been apparent I was, once again, on the wrong side of the Fates. Like Orwell's clock striking thirteen it proved to be ominous. I boarded the plane, weighed down by my duty free booze, and took the same seat I had occupied for the eight-hour flight from Sydney. More than six hours later I would be in that same seat, not soaring above the Caucasus but still on...

... bit up, it was so tame you could stroke it like a normal cat! Some people were having their picture taken with it, while feeding it.
We moved off to the tiger temple for some more big cat fun and again had my picture taken next to the tigers. After about 10+ pictures of me next to tigers i decided that i had had my fill off big cats and wanted to go on the death railway. We arrived at the station and took a few photos of the track and even walked down it with ...

18th October - Lesbian nightlife in Bangkok
Had an amazing night out in Bangkok! I had gotten to know some lesbians over here through the internet: Thai women and expats living in Bangkok. I was not expecting so many people to want to join in but in the end I think we were about 20 at the party!
First I had dinner with 4 others in the Khao San touristy area. It was a colourful mix ...

... trunks and feeding them.
We then headed over to our last stop of the day, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet. It was the former palace that was located in Ayudhaya that was burnt down by the Burmese. It was much bigger than the previous place that we visited so we spent more time there. There were more ruins to walk through but it was not as Buddha filled as the previous ruin, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol. Still I had a great time getting lost in all the ruins and climbing all through the walls ...
... station to 'sweep' the top clear of any hangers on. Seems a bit on the brutal side but undeniably effective!
After a bit of confusion about where we were meant to get off a pair of helpful elderly Thai women gave us directions via the medium of lots of hand waving and then slapping my **** as I went past! Now I don't know if this is some traditional Thai farewell or if she was simply coping a feel in return for the directions...
Unfortunately ...
... how much it had rained in Bangkok. They weren't kidding. When we got to the room it appeared the rain had seeped in at the windowsill and my suitcase and back pack were sitting in a puddle. Luckily nothing important was wet. Washed my clothes in the sink (no time for laundry service, we were checking out the next morning), and the staff found way to dry them overnight (she didn't know how to explain the process in English).
That night we headed out to ...
... on the west side of the island and then crossed back over to the outside and to Wat Chai Wattanaram. This was, by far, my favorite temple that I had seen the whole day. The grounds were full of nice, thick beds of green grass and the ruins were amazing. There were still about five large colums standing. There was the main one in the center and then a few other ones that were at the four corners. Me trying to describe the crumbling beauty of the whole thing would be ...
