... I have headed south/south/east in somewhat of an anti-clockwise direction and coming into Germany through Aachen, Cologne and then south/south east and again finishing in Munich.

Brussels, hmmmmmmmm. A rather uninspiring city and perhaps after only two short visits I may be a little unfair but for me a gloomy, dark damp atmosphere pervades. The famous statue (Mane ken Pis) of The Little Boy Peeing, to me, seems quite apt for the joint as many of the streets ...

... bar 'Delerium' that is a really popular bar every night of the week. It has over 3000 different beers and is a really authentic looking old bar.

Saturday morning we walked around part of the city that we hadn't seen yet and then caught the bus to the airport.Hopped on the plane and then caught the bus back to Limerick, all without having to run or miss any! It was such a great weekend, and Belgium is an amazing place. Definitely recommend it.

After doing a bit of window-shopping (and ...

... An unexpected treat was the Palais Royals, where we were able to tour 20 or more rooms. Also amazing, was that it was free of any entrance fee.
We continued also Rue Regence in search of # 32, Brussels main synagogue. We arrived at 1 pm, but unfortunately it is only open between 3 & 5 pm. Carolyn was disappointed, so we left in search of a cafe for lunch.
    After lunch, we continued ...

... your suitcase and your wet rainy self to the hotel. After getting lost and walking straight past our hotel we managed to check in, warm up and enjoy the city. We wondered around and found ourselves a small set of Christmas markets. We feasted on wonderful Belgian mussels which are apparently traditional and well known. After a small stroll we called it a day and agreed to resume in the morning with a city tour. Tuesday ...
