... brought a lot of goods for the first time to Europe from the East.

But we did manage to visit the Doge's Palace which was really great.

Doge’s palace is located on the same San Marco square, and San Marco church was Doge’s private capella.
So we entered the palace and found ourselves in a big yard. There we could see the San Marco church from inside, it was not as gorgeous as from outside but still ...

Venice, Veneto, Italy fedck... fell down the steps over one of the small canals and this one was the other knee. This time a woman ran up to help and Mick was telling her no, no, she's O.K., I was a cripple or something. Wow, I am not sure what is going on with me, but I was trying to zip up my coat and the stairs moved. Really though they are kind of deeper than regular stairs or something anyway that is why you will see a pic of now both my ...
Venice, Veneto, Italy lucy1279... care taken in the urban arrangements. It isn't at all boring, as one may think. We have enjoyed ourselves, known many persons and had fun till late in clubs... we hadn't had only massages and thermal baths and therefore I can state that Abano Terme is an ideal place for any type of holiday and also for young ladies like us, who want to stay together, enjoy and take care of themselves. We have become also more beautiful... try to believe! Francesca, Mara e Maria
Abano Terme, Veneto, Italy mary80... over 5 miles.
A lot of people told us we'd visit Venice regularly over the next few years while we are stationed in Aviano....and I think they might be right. Venice is an enchanting place, and the food is pretty darn good as well.
Allen and I are hopeless romantics, so this place seems to suite us well. ;)
Venice, Italy nikmarks79... place with Elena's head in his hands. *Artist Giorgi and another Elena who couldn't marry due to class so Elena married someone else but died of a broken heart. Elena resurrected herself but her husband and parents were scared and refused to help her; instead she went to her only love Georgio who gave her food and warm clothing and brought her back to life. A church was erected for this miracle, but Giorgio's painting of the Madonna inside and the external statues of ...
Venice, Italy travelkat... dancing, including Gonzo's mom! I spent the night with Stefano's best friends. They were great. We spent a good part of the night just talking, and when English didn't work, French did. Laura spent nine months in Australia and had just gotten back from Egypt. She was very sweet and loves Lord of the Rings, so my Myth and Tolkien class facinated her! When I got home, around 2h30, I was so tired, I went straight to bed. All in all, a great day!!!!
Venezia, Italy my_backpack... to Spain, I had one day in Milan. As I mentioned, Milan has a spectacular duomo as well, but the problem is some of the beauty is taken away by the huge advertisement hanging out the front of it. Milan also has a massive castle, which is personally one of my favorites, because unlike the castles in Prague or Bratislava or just about anywhere else it didn't have the obnoxious habit of being perched atop some high, steep hill. The other impressive building in Milan, next to ...
Venice, Italy danblank... Siena - 25 of the hardest walking of my life, Pisa - 264 steps up the very leaning tower, San Giminango - medieval town with more steps than bricks! This goregous Tuscan town was also the site of a seedy incident when an Italian forced his attentions on me! It was sitting down admiring yet another set of steps, when over he sauntered, talking loudly in Italian, and plonking himself down next to me. Despite my protests, he moved closer and closer and finally, nudged my thigh, his ...
