Tomorrow, March 2nd, is the first day of courses at uni for the majority of the student body. Fortunately I am an exception to the rule as my schedule currently only requires me to be on campus Tuesday through Thursday, allowing for maximum travel time! On Tuesday I'll have a jam-packed day of Australian History, Marine Biology, and French, but for now I've got one more day of summer vacation. Maybe it's because of the heat, or maybe the new campus, but somehow I don't ...
Rainbow Bay, Queensland, Australia erinaldo1587... down 1000 stairs (did they seriously count?) and then took a "scenic rail" ride back up... the railway is a guinness record for being the steepest in the world. I was practically ******** myself! It honestly felt like we were just going to topple straight forward... and down. Its a 45 degree angle! About all the excitement I can handle in my life haha. Monday marked our departure from Sydney. (No worries, I'll ba back... multiple times ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia decemberchick... to sort out the catering. I ended up being a waitress as well as saying goodbye to everyone! Stef came back to Daiji's with me for the last time after work on Friday. We got some bottles on wine and kicked back and relaxed. On the Saturday night we headed out into Surfers Paradise and went to a few bars. Stef ended up sacking off work on the Monday as the sun was out and we spent the whole day laying in the sun and trying to get a bit of a tan!! I ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia littlewiggle... at the ocean and I saw 3 dolphins, a sea turtle, and a shark. Then we went down and laid on the beach. I'm glad I wasn't interested in swimming that day because right after we sat down, the shark siren went off and the water was evacuated until a rescue boat chased it away. On the way to Byron Bay that morning Barry pointed out the fruit bat colony sleeping upside-down in the trees alongside the highway. Every ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia jamierb... for our respective teams. My team lost due to a poorly done hat race through the crowd (yes I'm a little bitter). Also, the only thing I have to savor the experience is a really goofy straw hat-that probably won't make it home-since no one is allowed to take any photos. Other than that thought the show was really entertaining and I had a good time. Oh, and I want a horsey.
Broadbeach, Australia nanonano63... It really works and some of the 3D is brilliant, much better than Jaws 3. I had expected this to be a bit lame but it was really good fun. We put our stuff back in the locker and then go on the Superman, Batman and Lethal Weapon rides again. This is interspersed with the Warner Brothers parade which I would normally not be interested in except for the fact they have the new Batmobile in the parade. It's pretty cool, the thing is so fast that it can't ...
Kirra Beach, Australia richard_x_brown... and a few more beers before calling it a nite, still feeling tired and a little delicate from the night before, surely Mr Norman and Mr Baker weren't feeling the pace after 2 months on the booze - well the odd night off wouldn't hurt :-) Day 54 - Had a fairly early start in order to catch our bus up to Surfers Paradise. Now me and Nick don't do things by half's, and finding that most of the backpackers were booked, we called our ...
Sydney - Brisbane, Australia tonyjnorman... Centre. It was good. Bought Heaps - Colorado shoes for school next year (Year 11) and an emily the strange t-shirt. We were there forever and shopped until we dropped!! Dropped into a fruit market on the way home and got some Nectarenes. OUR FEET HURT!!
Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia megze14... hour, which I did. I was finished by 5, I gave the parents a call to catch up on what had been happening back home and also managed to give the grandparents a ring, which I don't think I'll be doing again after receiving a load of loutish abuse off my nan for supporting the Blues. After stuffing my face at work all day I didn't feel like eating anything for the rest of the night. I grabbed a couple of tall bottled beers from the bottle shop and spent the rest of the night on the balcony ...
Brisbane, Australia bluenoseontour... are: -They've just not checked their email yet -They've totally forgotten who I am -They've all died in a volcanic eruption/tsunami/earthquake/shark attack I've got visions of turning up at the hospital later tonight and all the commotion that'll entail with my appalling grasp of Bislama. I have at least managed to get my hands on 20,000 Vatu but have no idea how much in sterling that is?!
