177 Old Burleigh Road Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, 61-7-5570-2799-
... We do weeding, and mulching, and picking the rocks out of the ground. This is also the first time they've had a full WWOOFer house (there are 12 of us) so we have some things to do around the house like cleaning an old barbecue so we can use it. At first I wasn't sure how long I would like to stay here, but I am starting a waitressing job tonight (yay!) so I might be staying here for a few weeks or maybe a whole month. The waitressing will ...
Mt. Tamborine, Queensland, Australia cmukon... a storm of thunder, lightening, showers and some kind of electrical sky activity...time for me to head back for cover. Back at base camp Sheridan was still asleep (the poor fella works nights so has to try and sleep durin the day. Had a chat with Bonnie and played with James in his favourite activity..sandpit and trucks. A quiet and restful night in my own room (wow..what a treat after hostel rooms with snoring, gorgonzola feet and no space to swing an ant. May 31st ...
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia rolls... to meet with Shrek and Princess Fiona on the way. We first headed onto the Looney Tunes RiverRide and then one of my favourites - the Road Runner Rollercoaster! After that we headed back over to the bigger rides. We stopped for a few goes on Scooby Doo and it was deserted due to the fact most people had gone to to 3.30 session of the police show. We ran through that 4 times, waiting in no lines at all, before we headed over ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia bethfisher... that observation that we were driving through a town called Miami Beach. Well, naive as we were, Surfers Paradise is far from what I would call paradise. It was more crowded and more developed than Byron Bay. After some lunch and a walk, we hit the road again in search of somewhere quieter and more peaceful.
Surfers Paradise, Australia jkirby... for our respective teams. My team lost due to a poorly done hat race through the crowd (yes I'm a little bitter). Also, the only thing I have to savor the experience is a really goofy straw hat-that probably won't make it home-since no one is allowed to take any photos. Other than that thought the show was really entertaining and I had a good time. Oh, and I want a horsey.
Broadbeach, Australia nanonano63Surfer's served up yet another Australian surprise for me today, in fact, it created two. I have grown acustomed to the distances of this continent that maquerades as a country, I can completely understand why the Australians laugh at Brits who percieve the UK as a big place, though I always point out that travelling at home is not so carefree as the highways in this part of the world. Still, that is not the point. The point is that during my ...
Surfer's Paradise, Australia sahs... I use that term lightly as its only her that thinks they're an item!! haha. She and 2 friends flew up from Sydney for the weekend and descended on us. In fairness, Jesper didn't want them there as much as us, but we grin and bore it, safe in the knowledge that for 2 days we had the run of Corina's bosses beach house (free of charge). So they didn't really detract from our stay in Surfers, plus we spent ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia will_waldron... Centre. It was good. Bought Heaps - Colorado shoes for school next year (Year 11) and an emily the strange t-shirt. We were there forever and shopped until we dropped!! Dropped into a fruit market on the way home and got some Nectarenes. OUR FEET HURT!!
Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia megze14... at 5.30 and was at the hotel at 6 starting straight away. I got the usual banter off the staff working there, filled my face with everything put in front of me and was done by 12. The only thing that does my head in about working there is that the majority of the cleaning staff in the kitchen are phillipino's and most of them have got a chip on their shoulder for some reason. When I got to work it was still warm outside, when I left at midnight the outside temp had dropped to 5 ...
Brisbane, Australia bluenoseontour... who bussed it in..we hung out on the beach silently stalking Tarquin, the cute English guy from our hostel that Cat loves..we went to Matty's house for an Aussie bbq out in Tugun and then Matty, Ryan, Sandra and us girls went back into town and went to Melbas (again!), Avenue and Shooters..we ended up crashing at 4am for an 8am wake-up so we could pack and what-not before we had to jump on a bus and head to Brisbane...
