The next day we went into St Gallen with Elsa. We walked around the old city, and visited their beautiful church and main shopping centres. In the eve Heinz cooked my favorite dinner ever – Roesti!! And we watched 'Inspector Rex'.
On Friday Elsa took us to a mountain up a gondola, and we went for a walk. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best – very ...

... it were, a couple of hundred metres from the actual peak. There was no snow only the remains of some ice in the distance, The ground was covered with crushed powdery rock and not attractive at all. It looked like a construction site and essentially it was. There was some earth moving equipment up on a ridge and a recently constructed hotel on the side of a cliff opposite. It was all quite bizarre. Like a moonscape from a sci-fi movie. Around us were the chalky white ...
Singen, Germany brianc... hung over the lake and around the hills until midday denying us views across the waters as we drove around Lake Konstance. It was a fast run and we entered the town by following the directions towards the water. It seemed the obvious place to go and it was. The old, lower town car park rested alongside the car ferry terminal. It was almost full and the few spaces left were very narrow. Anne had to get out of the car before I parked. From ...
Friedrichshafen, Germany briancToday we drove to Lindau, Germany, and did our own walking tour. Lindau is an island in the eastern part of Lake Constance. It was quite overcast, but still lovely. I'm sure that on a warm summer day it would be filled with people sitting in the sun and enjoying all the open air cafes.
Then we were off around the lake ...
