... a good hour just walking inside the rock face and enjoying the stunning formations of the rock that had been smoothed to take the force of the water over time. After a while we decided it was time to head back to our original plan. Luckily when we exited that rock, we were warmly greeted with blue skies and incredible views. We ran down the side of the hill to the bus stop in time for the next bus and took it back to the train station. From ...

Toot! Toot! Get the heck out of my way, I've got a schedule to keep. Meeting Theresa at the Interlaken Ost train platform. If all the trains stay on track (pun intended) we think I will arrive about 15 minutes after she does. From there we will take the train station to Lauterbrunnen, the village that lies in the valley floor between the Schilthorn and Jungfrau mountains. Actually, no one is in my way and no one is at the train station but me! The train arrives on time and I get on ...

The train ride from Basel to Interlaken was simply stunning. It is real picture post card stuff. The train ride runs along the shores of miles and miles of lake views. The lakes are crystal clear. I can see the details of the texture on the small stones in the shallows from the train and it is like an enormous sheet of glass spreading out as far a the eye can see. Beyond this the background, on the left of us in the train, sit the enormous white peaks of the Swiss alps. We arrive ...

I wake early before our set alarms go off. So determined not to miss the bus I set two alarms just in case. Thank goodness because Grant's fancy Kathmandu world clock/torch didn't end up going off. We lug our packs & gear downstairs to check out. Breakfast doesn't open until 7:30, we line up & I gobble down a baguette spread with Nutella as we watch out the window with anticipation for the arrival of the busabout bus. You can't miss when it pulls in across ...

... was so fun I think I'd like to try hang gliding or something if I have enough money. I don't think it was scary at all but Katie begs to differ.

It was a short trip which was okay because of the lack of activities we were able to do. This was easily the most beautiful scenic place we have been to thus far. The mountains looked like a back drop they were so perfect looking. I hope to come back again one day with much more money in my pocket.
