... last night and today we went to see the large mine that was once operating in Bochum. we went kart racing and had a barbecue with some of their friends to play games, eat, and have a party. today we went to the Chinese buffet and cleaned the place up!!! tonight we are going to a club for some drinks and dancing. so that is all of it for now, and we will keep you posted as we head to Cologne, Ulm, Munich and then Prague!!!
Bochum, Germany tyler.durand... pretty tough for everyone, especially yesterday. I have said goodbye to all of my friends. Tara has left for her host family, Santiago has left to his host family, Trevor went to visit his fiance and son before flying home today. I think that Rafael from Chile might still be around but he is travelling around seeing Karneval all weekend in Düsseldorf and Köln.
I went on Thursday ...
... It'll cost a fair bit, but at least then I will have everything at home (I can't pay the excess baggage fee at the airport! It's absolutely insane!!!)
And so I will leave u for another day. If I have time to tell u about my other adventures before I come home I shall. If not I will give u an outline of what my week holds:
Tonight I am going to see the opera 'Don Giovanni'
Tomorrow we have our last official classes at uni and we have bought a bracelet to ...
... tell who the prince was...
The dancing involved too much bended knee and sticking bums out, hardly a beautiful dance move and they couldn't even keep in time with each other, let alone create straight lines. The one thing I was looking forward to seeing was that one dance where they line the stage and dance as one. They wouldn't have had a chance in hell! So, needless to say I was a little disappointed with my first ballet. I think that I would have much preferred a ...
... from Berlin via Hamburg in 2 weeks, which I may consider doing if it is not too expensive... We'll see.
So, not much has happened since my last email. I went on an excursion to the old Synagogue in Essen. I have a photo of it from my first day in Essen. I called it the Dome Kirche! Whoops. I should have called it the Dome Synagogue! Oh well.
I have bought a couple of tickets for some culture in the coming weeks. I am seeing the ...
... 10 to 5. After that I had some salad, read a bit of my german book, worked on Imperfect verbs and then went to bed.
When I woke up it was today. The annoying thing about today is that because of the storm Thurs, we were sent home early, which means that all of my Literature classes go for 2 hours now, instead of 1.5. And they were the most boring ones!!!
That is all that I have to say about the past and present. Now to the ...
So I believe I left u wondering what I was going to do on Saturday after my dreams of seeing a German castle had been completely blown out of the water.
The tutors decided that we would have the excursion to Düsseldorf instead, which is where I have already been twice. I wished that I had just stayed in bed I was SO tired. In the last 2 nights I had had a total of 8 hours sleep ...
... because of the trains. We went to Mayersche a giant bookstore in the Centre of Essen for a bit of cheering up. I found some wonderful books that I can use for my teaching in Australia, as well as a really cheap trashy teen fiction written in German that I am reading at the moment and understanding most of it.
When I got back to the hotel we made dinner and then got ready to go out to the Delta Diskothek. It's a giant disco that has ...
... sure that I go to my room and then give me a call at the hotel. I have to be there because I am not allowed to go out anywhere. Thanks so much for ur message! It makes me miss u even more!
Don"t worry about my safety. Luckily the hurricane changed direction and will hit the eastern states worse than here.
So I"ll go now. Still cooking dinner and it's 10pm. I will try and leave another blog entry tomorrow if I can to let u know what I get up to.

... 41 degrees is probably hard to escape from. My deepest sympathy for those who do not have an air conditioner at home. How are u guys sleeping?
Before u do go to sleep, you might be interested in chatting with me online. Most weekdays I come on line at around 1pm (11pm for u), if it's too late, then u can catch my next edition the morning after, but if u have instant messaging and would like to chat, I usually can for around ...
