... The hostel I stayed at was a DUMP! It was really pretty terrible. But I slept well-enough and opted to avoid the 'shower' and wait for the cruise. Though I know that will be a cramped space, but at least it will (hopefully) be clean.
Arrivederci Italy! A presto.
Hopefully I'll find internet here and there while docked at various ports. But it may be a full week before you get any witty, intelligent, humorous updates from this particular traveler. ;)
Ciao!
... with acts of all kinds to entertain it was a great night we always finished our night off with Cocktail at the pool bar and then walked around the deck talking about all the fun we have had so far we were now heading for Dubrovnik and with another tour booked we were not sure what to expect and would our lack of language skills get us into trouble again .
We went anyway with open minds and we are very happy the people there were fantastic and the old ...
... perk!) we headed out for the day. Our plan was to make our way over to a house owned by Wake Forest where 16 Wake Forest students are studying for the semester, including one of my good friends Satie and two of my sorority sisters. The house ended up being on the complete opposite side of Venice and because the streets are so confusing and hard to follow, it took us over two hours to make it to the house, but eventually we found it. The Wake Forest house is the old U.S. Embassy ...

Venice
Raining and pouring for the morning in Venice..but we braved the elements and the buses and the Italians and other tourists to head from the motel (on the mainland) into the city of Venice. We were soaked by the time we got off the bus but the “Australian Drowned Rats” (ADRs) carried on.. We somehow bought tickets for a boat trip.. And then took the wrong boat but ended up on a great trip down the Grand Canal…even in the ...
After the wedding we spent a few days in Venice before flying home. This is one of the cities I wish I could walk around without anyone else there. I am sure it is much more beautiful without the hundreds of people on every little bridge. It was a lot of fun wandering around, getting lost and then finding a place to enjoy a glass of wine.
cheers
... precious source of this area. It's the fango matured in the thermal water that made us understand the uniqueness of this Hotel and of the town. The therapist has explained us is prepared in the thermal structure of the Hotel by using the thermal water. The mud matures in basins for a period of two, three months absorbing the beneficial substances contained in this special water. The first two days have passed quickly and were dedicated to our ...
Abano Terme, Veneto, Italy mary80... have my "Venice for pleasure" which helps me with finding some nice walks in the city. I have concentrated on St. Mark's Square today and the main sights around it as well as a lovely walk over dozens of little bridges and beautiful squares. The town is pleasantly quiet. And now I am looking forward to a nice bottle of wine and a good dinner.
Venice, Italy florian-on-tour... over 3 of Venice's bridges with tons of steps and onto the bus. Our bus dropped us off a little bit down the road from our hotel and we had to try to run across a 4-way highway with all of our things. I'm sure we were a sight. The hotel has a pizzeria attached to it and we have a cramped but nice room with our own terrace overlooking the highway. After I tried to wash the bird poop out of my clothes with tide, we headed back into Venice. We ...
Venice, Italy mingozingo... amarone, risotto that has soaked up so much amarone wine it is heavenly. Then on to southern Switzerland for the last 2 days. We stayed in a little village on Lake Lugano. Late afternoon swimming in the pool surrounded by palm trees, an afternoon ride up a funicular to the top of a mountain with incredible views, a ride around the lake on a cruise boat and lunch at the MacDonald's in Lugano (complete with gold gilt moldings and crystal chandeliers).
Venice, Italy rickandrach... seat numbers but we're in the wrong coach. We had no idea there were different coaches with the same seat numbers (we learn something new everyday!), so we apologize and get our coats and bags to move coaches. The NJM is sad to see us go, but promises to meet up with us in the dining car for lunch. Our new seats are not too different, and we settle down for the almost 6 hour ride to Venice SL. I'm very ...
