Munsters and the War

... place we really did not know where to go but finally decided on a little place on the border of France and Switzerland called Mulhouse.

After the day we had had we decided to go for a drink and some cocktails we met a really lovely German couple who we had some great conversations with on Politics, Green Issues and the war a subject that should not really be talked about with the Germans but they were happy to ...

Our last day in good old Germany ;)

So liebe Leute...
In wenigen Stunden heißt es auch schon "Good bye old Germany"!

One big ass cathedral

... Unfortunately this was not so. Mom was very happy about this and offered to stay in the square outside with Lincoln. I guess climbing 768 steps for a nice view isn't her thing. More her thing is the little booths in the market square outside the cathedral.

It was a long and tedious climb to the top of the 162m high spire. We finally reached a platform I was sure that was the end and stopped to walk around the diameter of the ...

Highlight of the trip!

So, Saturday morning we rolled on through Fuessen and the McCafe and then hit the road in the direction of Legoland. But oh man, they sure don't have McDonalds like this in Canada! Wow! They were no longer serving breakfast, so Ken had a burger...and the rest of us had cake. I mean, real Torte. MMMmmm. They also served gourmet coffee and other yummies. I was so impressed.
The trip to Gunzburg was ...

Touring with Irene & Chappy

... On Sunday, we drove down what is called the Romantic Road to tour a few walled towns and drive through some of them. In the fields there were flower gardens, where you could pick flowers. They used the honor system, leave a donation. By Monday, 8/03, we were on are way to Fussen, Germany.

... didnt get the text messages till today, but happy with the result. DAY 12 - Rest day in Ulm - I guess I will need to give my bike some loving, have cleaned it before but not the way the rest of the group are fanatically cleaning the bike. ... out for dinner and an organ recital at the Munster. While we were here in the morning, we heard the organist warming up. What a full, lush sound. After the recital, we took a short walk to one of the little beer halls for dinner. We had a great time. I had the largest dumplings I have ever seen. And there was great music to go along with a great meal. I’ll have to tell Frank that the Oktoberfest Bier is out. Got to cut it short... 3:30 am will come all too soon.
