I write from the shore of the magnificent Lake Bled. I have had such a beautiful day - the picture you can see first off is the view I'm currently seeing, absolutely stunning. My day started off well, being awoken by the kindest, most softly spoken lady I've met in a long time with the words, "Miss Suter, will you be leaving us today or would you like to stay longer?". Err, was definitely supposed to check out this morning and completely forgot to book ...

... and returned to the car. It's as pretty as a fairy tale town. From there we followed the road to the main highway to Bled, arriving mid afternoon and found our hotel Villa Preserin, right on the lake. It's in a beautiful location, walking distance to all the restaurants and next to a park-like promenade. It was a warmish October day so we selected a table overlooking the lake and enjoyed a Pinot Blanc. Later, we walked around the town checking out the restaurants and bars. We found ...

For lunch we returned to the pizza restaurant we visited on our first day so we could enjoy another garlic pizza! Our final activity was a trip to Bled Castle. Its key attraction is the location and view of Lake Bled as it's perched atop a hill with ...

This entry consists of our experiences in Slovenia over the course of three days, as they all involve the great outdoors, Slovenia's finest asset! We hired a few bicycles down at Bled so we could enjoy the 6km lap around the lake without having to punish the kids (and adults) with walking! The paths were ideal for all levels of cyclist and gave our 7yr old daughter more confidence with her riding skills. Our first stop was at the camp grounds for an icecream and a look back at ...

We set off in rain and before we reached Bled there was bright sunshine which made the lakes and mountains even more stunning than they were already. Totally blown away by the contrast from the city this stunning town is well worth a return trip in the spring with walking boots. Bled had a beautiful lake and ...
