A group of 18 Irish Ramblers meet up for two weeks hiking in this region. Many of the group had been here before and some more than once going back over the last twelve years.The hotel Jezero has been up-graded in the past few years, a friendly hotel with good food, situated in a lovely place you can enjoy your time here.
... everything Bled was not. The highlight of this visit was seeing some young people making bus loads of bubbles using rope and detergent. We were careful to stand upwind. Postonja caves are a great attraction. The largest limestone caves in Europe have been a magnet for tourists since the 19th century and fully deserve their billing. We avoided falling stalactites by several decades and emerged unscathed. Unfortunately photography was not permitted so you will have to go on line ...

Up the rockiest most barren mountain range we have seen, leading we didn't know where. Tuesday we woke to rain and apprehension re our drive through the Julian Alps. However by the time we reached hair pin bend #17 ( out of 50 total) and the Russian church the blue sky began to appear. We continued to climb to the summit 1600 m Vrsic Pass - snow everywhere which of course tested our drivers but they passed with flying ( well almost) colours!
