... The lake was lovely today. The further out you go the clearer the water it was lovely and warm towards the surface and cool but not cold underneath. It was very easy to swim in no current no waves no salt I reckon given enough time I could swim the whole lake but it would take while I don't think you could rush anything here! Ahhhh the supermarket was shut its Sunday!!!! So we decided to go to the village of St Wolfgang. What a great decision! A beautiful village/town. Very picturesque. We ...

Before leaving Vocklabruch, and while the rest of us were enjoying breakfast, the coaches visited the local store (Aldi's) and packed lunches for us all to take up the mountain (meat, cheese, bread, wine, water and chocolate - all the essentials!). We loaded up the coach and started our journey - about an hour and a half ride. We passed Lake Attersee, the largest lake in Austria, and the lake that the 2012 ...

If you love the great outdoors then Austria is the place for you!! Here we were heading for the Alps to escape the heat. Crossed the border from Czech Republic into Austria and once again an instant change to green, ordered farmland and prosperous looking towns, good roads and the odd mountain tunnel or so. Our first night was at Freistadt camped beside a babbling brook. (Real Heidi country!) Days may ...
