First published: possible version of the play published in quarto in 1594 as A Pleasant Conceited Historie, called The taming of a Shrew (printed by Peter Short for Cuthbert Burby). ... today I had the pici (pasta) with zucchini flowers – which was really tasty. Lovely lunch. We then walked around and saw a bit more of Pistoia and took T&P round for a Monte Rosa gelati. Next home to Uliveto and we have had a lovely relaxed sit and chat on our balcony. Giorgio & Cristina joined us for a while. Lovely day. Tonight we had a munchy dinner together at home, planning for tomorrow - but great to have lovely friends with us.

... I'm lucky to find an eatery that's open--as in Pistoia, almost all the shop owners are on vacation right now. I'm pleasantly surprised to find something cheap that's not pizza or pasta: it's a cold salad with greens and a sort of barley--a refreshing meal for a hot ...

Day 268 6 hrs, 6 kms Next morning I'm back... and take my time exploring my the fourth provincial capital of my Superhike. Pistoia doesn't pull in the tourist crowds of Firenze, Pisa, or Lucca, but it is still a beautiful city untarnished by tourist trappiness. I sit in the main piazza, gazing up at the grandeur of the enormous cathedral tower... On the other side a fellow is busking all alone. I can't say ...
