Today started sunny and we set off walking. Walked up hill and then down to the edge of Lake Derwentwater, to Hawes End, then along the shore to High Brandle How. Beautiful scenery of hills and the lake, but got wetter and wetter.

Then took the little ferry around the lake to Keswick, and did some more ...

... very popular and not very big. Some busy planting on a limestone crag was mildly interesting but overall it didn't really live up to the write-up in the brochure in my humble opinion even if Alan Titchmarsh had featured it on his Love your Garden TV programme! Bird feeders in the garden guaranteed entertainment - red and grey squirrels and numerous birds just outside the windows on a lovely sunny evening. Dinner at the local pub to end a great day, despite the ...

We leave our Southern location and start heading nort.h to our next destination. Wales is the target. With a few miles to travel today we travel mainly on the duel carriageway. The M5 takes us up to and along the Severn Estuary not crossing into Wales just yet. Past Gloucestor, Worcester and then turning off to Kidderminster, Bridgnorth -but we must break the journey somewhere for a lunch stop and what better place than Ironbridge, the site of the words first iron bridge and designed ...
