    Lovely family-run hotel, great friendly atmosphere. Easy walk from Interlaken West station & also into town. Large room with mountain view, very comfortable

    ... won't change trains. It could be several trains. Backtracked from Zermatt to Montreux and then the Golden Pass from there to Interlaken. Beautiful scenery. Hotel Interlaken is very nice.     We had rain overnight and on waking it was damp, gloomy and overcast. After breakfast we strolled into Interlaken rather than taking the bus to do a bit of grocery shopping.     ... flag flying on a flag pole with a few other flags - ours was by far the biggest! From there, the last car took us down to Stechelberg. This trip gave us a brilliant view of the Lauterbrunnen valley. It has now given me a completely different understanding of the meaning of valley. Towring cliffs on either side and a grassy strip in between. Picture postcard material, but once again, too big to really capture.

    ... hostel but that it was worth it. I think its safe to say their judgement was WAY off. They were sitting in the foyer of the cabin where everyone walks in to get to their rooms, and at one point they shut the lights off in the room and got too quiet. Although it was very sad we could not keep from laughing and asking if this was real life or here we on the tv show "What would you do?" We took that as a hint that it was time to go to bed.
