Lovely family-run hotel, great friendly atmosphere. Easy walk from Interlaken West station & also into town. Large room with mountain view, very comfortable

... Wyatt (he calls it his "beer") kept the little ones happy. Meanwhile, the hikers were not as impressed as yesterday's bike riding. They came back soaked and cold from a glacier walk in the rain. Yeah for choosing to stay back with the kids!

This was followed by a gondola ride plus a bus ride (Amelia was in a coma on the bus) then a train home. Now off to dinner and early to bed. ...

... snowing like crazy the whole way home and the trains had to go very slowly so it took a long time to get home. Funnily enough, we happened to sit next to the Perth couple from this morning again! Was fun to spend some time with other Aussies! :-) Finally reached Interlaken and caught the local train to our station and then had dinner before heading back to our hotel. Early train out tomorrow - to ITALY!!! Woohoo! ...

We were hoping for a good nights sleep here because we planned on a lot of hiking the next ...

We had rain overnight and on waking it was damp, gloomy and overcast. After breakfast we strolled into Interlaken rather than taking the bus to do a bit of grocery shopping. After lunch the weather was not promising - one or two short spells of sunshine and warmth, so we did not venture forth, opting to potter about - David cleaning the bikes, me doing the ironing. A little later a couple of British caravans checked in, two couples ...

... mountains, so beautiful in every direction. Liked it a lot. Thank you Pascal and Carmen!

After Zurich, we drove on to Interlaken, Switzerland. It's amazing how many tunnels there are in Switzerland and how long they are, like miles long. There were times when we wondered if we were actually going to see any of Switzerland. I always thought the Eisenhower tunnel was long, but it's like a baby Swiss tunnel, newborn even. ...
