... just a little at the side of the road, as we climbed it steadily became deeper until it was about 2 feet deep, the road was clear of snow, but narrow in places. We stopped at the top of the hill to take a photo of the remains if a row of windmills built along the ridge. The wind was strong and bitterly cold as we trampled in the snow to get a good shot. We drove down a short way and then climbed again passing ...

... and the tall arched buildings where the sailing ships were built. This port was a very busy trading area in the Venetian times. The yellow arrows led us to 25th Avenue, the Main Street through the city centre with a few grand buildings remaining. We walked into the local resort dodging the waves as they crashed against the rocks ...

The overnight hail, thunder and lightening disturbed us several times, we are reluctant to get up until the heating has warmed up. There are occasional breaks in the rain today, so we took the opportunity to take Logan out. We walked along the road which is flooded in places, were well wrapped up with full waterproofs on, the wind is bitting cold. We walked for around an hour passing an estate of military houses and beyond them an almost deritict area of what we think must have ...

... had just the right thing. ( this sounds like Goldilocks)!
Back at the harbour we removed our wet clothes and put dry things, on had lunch and set off for Iraklio, Crete's capital city.
The roads were flooded in many places and there were numerous rocks in the road washed down with the rain. On one bend a police car was parked on the centre if the road, we slowed down, we could see some cones set out ...
