3rd November 2014 The journey from Mui Ne to Da Lat took about four and a half hours over one of the worst roads we've been on. Navigating around the sides of mountains, it provided a similar experience to that we had between Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng in Laos with an added number of pot holes the size of swimming pools for company. If you were to look at a map for routes between the two cities, this wouldn't be on it - perhaps an indication of its quality. We did ...

... and being thankful for my journey thus far. Mui Ne doesn't require a lot of time, it's essentially on big long road on one side and one big long beach on the other side, not a bad stop at all!! The great news was that my lovely German lady had reached Vietnam and was in Saigon and I figured, you know you meet these amazing, amazing people, I am in no rush whatsoever and if it is possible to spend time with people you really love being with then why the hell not, right? I ...

... really fun, another water slide where we had to go down headfirst. There was a decent amount of trekking through the Vietnamese wilderness - bamboo and mangroves and palm trees and just general JUNGLE. The morning started out with beautiful blue skies as we're walking alongside a wild river with rapids and lots of waterfalls and jungle overhead. The river is fast and narrow at most of its points - there were several times when the best way down the river ...

I feel like I've been having a lot of lazy days recently, but oh well.

Today I got up early to Skype with a friend back in the states, which was nice. It was a bit on the early side after the late night last night, but it was ok. The internet keeps dropping out here - I think because the router is plugged in very precariously and sometimes the plug just sort of falls out, which is very annoying. We ended up having to end the call because it ...

... without the joy of doing it themselves. The guys chatted with us a while about where we were headed and advised that we stay another night and head off early the next day as they reckoned it was a good 6-7 hour ride. They also suggested we take a different route to the one we had planned but in true style we decided to crack on and head off along the route we had planned. I'm so glad we did. I'll pick that up in the next entry and start from there with us leaving Dalat.
