Leshan Buddha...but not really

A travel blog entry by jeremyandchris on Jul 17, 2013

Today was a major disappointment. We were scheduled to visit the Leshan Buddha, but unfortunately, due to the heavy rains we have had over the past week, the area is still not safe and the government closed the park. Chengdu is a big city (4 million inhabitants) and there are plenty of things to do. One night I went to the Sichuan Opera, a mixture of dance, slapstick, music, shadow play, puppets and ...

... into the night, the dancing commenced in our private room. The whole experience was quite surreal and we often found ourselves wondering how we even ended up in this situation. The future is truly a hard thing to tell. Long story short, we had a great time and figure that the man spent at least 3000 yuan on us or $500 US. We walked into our rooms safely at about 4 AM, oh what a night it was and what a memory it will always be. These are the stories of our lives. ...
