... Most of those stairs ended just below the water level so you could get your feet wet, but then had to commit to a much larger drop off to actually go further. After a few tries with different stairs, I helped him to find a small pebble beach, where he could more easily get to the water, and he spent a little time splashing and watch the crabs that were plentiful at the water's edge. Meanwhile the rest of the group was resting under umbrellas ...

... the hilltops. Then we rounded the last turn and there was the parking lot full of tour buses that had come up the other road. Oh, and the castle sitting in the mouth of a cave as the guide book had said it would. It was spectacular, and required that many photos be taken even before we got into it.

The wharf area was a bit like a Paris roundabout when you get in the wrong 'lane'. *@/~#!. if you stayed too long on the berth or you missed out on one, no doubt respective Captains were saying things in impolite terms about the chaos - but then perhaps they are used to it.

We were well and truly home when the heavens opened and a huge electrical storm seemed to hang around the beach for ages.

... are listed on the UNESCO Heritage sites and features vast underground canyons through which the Reka river runs. Apparently, people have lived in the caves from Prehistoric ages. It was a really wonderful experience walking through the many chambers in the eerie darkness. I half expected Gollum to jump out at me. Unfortunately no photography was allowed but I guess the best images are the ones etched in your mind.

A successful launch on Thursday and sails back on. before the rain came in. Boat just becoming ship shape on Friday and everything tucked away when final checks on instruments made us realise there was no speedo. A quick check identified we had to run a new cable - easier said than done!!! 4 hours later we had removed every panel, cushion and floor ...
