... arch. The large pond garden, western gate and dry landscape garden nearby have been restored sol they now look much as they did in the 1800s. We spent a little time there taking in the serenity, buildings, small waterfall and statues.

We walked down Yamaguchi Perfecture Route 204, which looked to be the main road through the city. There seem to be very many footbaths in the Yamaguchi area, unfortunately, we did not have time to make use of them this trip. ...

Mister Donut was new to Robert's family and friends - they serve a wide array of donuts and pastries, but they are much lighter than the ones we get at home. They both spoke a little English, so we did manage to chat with them during the reception. The first lady had an 8 month old daughter and the second lady a 14 month old boy – both were too cute!! We were surprised to see 2 cribs at the back of ...

... to the Roughrider game (even though it was another loss). We finally boarded our Bullet Train for the 2 hour trip to Yamaguchi. The trip went pretty fast, except that I was a little asleep at the switch, and we missed getting off in Yamaguchi, as these trains do not stop for long. We ended up getting off at the next station about 100 kms away. We caught the next Shinkansen back, but it wasn't an express and took 3 ...
