... also timed our visit well and were here for Mexican Independence Day last Sunday - a brilliant day starting with an afternoon of traditional food and Mezcal at a friend's place and ending at the Municipal Plaza for some carnival rides and dancing in the street. The weather finally cleared for this weekend so we headed down to Tulum to check out the ruins and the beaches.
