We knew that everything in Dubai was big, but wandering through the different shopping areas uncovered some unexpected surprises....

First stop was the modern Dubai Mall near the Burj Khalifa. This mall is billed as the world's biggest, but it is not until you get inside that you discover that as well as a large number of shops, it also has a huge aquarium and waterfall!!!

We all managed a bit of sleep on the way to Dubai and also took in some movies. We landed just before 6am local time but the aircraft parked a long way from the terminal and we boarded shuttle buses which took us on a ride for at least 20 minutes before we reached the terminal. ... the beach it was time for lunch which again was overlooking the beach and looking at the Burj Al Arab. Lunch was great Shaun tried Chicken Shawarma and Arabic bread which he really enjoyed. After lunch it was time to hit the pool and then it was onto the marina area for my cousins to do the water obstacle course etc.

... rolled out of bed, went to the gym, walked to the shops to get some food and then lazed on the couch watching Sex in the City 2 because it was set in Abu Dhabi. We got picked up at 4 and headed to the desert about an hour later we pulled off, put the tyre pressure down and then fanged it into the dunes.
