    ... we decided we didn't really have time to eat there. So we all went home and finished packing. Russ and Julie picked me up around 2 and we drove to Chicago. Hungry. No breakfast OR lunch.

    Remote parking and Aer Lingus check in was a snap, so we cleared security, found our gate, and went looking for food.

    ... elevated 'subway' has survived above the downtown streets. Many movie visions here, not least 'Blues Brother' and Ferris Bueller, although our guide had no idea where Twiggy had bazookered Jake & Elwood that morning.
    Chicago itself seemed pretty quiet (nothing like New York) and has a feeling of a city way past its prime. There was quite a lot of begging everywhere.
