Milos and the beach!

... we managed to get a shot of me jumping off ten+ meter cliffs into the ocean. Mirna conquered her fear of heights and jumped of a very large rock, without screaming. We then just lay around in the sun, and fell deeper in love with Milos. Besides the heavenly water, and sparkling beaches there is, how shall i put it, cheese. Yesterday we ate the best grilled and spicy goats cheese. And for a couple cursed with lactose intolerance we can proudly say it was worth it.

-Aaron
Man, this is windy!!

... but we were now also quite concerned about our ability to actually get this tiny car back up the cliff. We could just imagine calling the rental company and telling them we had driven their car to the bottom of a 700ft cliff and now had no way to get it back out.

Anyway, we turned off the a/c and anything else we could think of that would be a drain on the engine. We agreed to take everything out of the car (including me) to lessen the weight in order to make it as light as ...

The best island in Greece

... to return and spend another week here in July. On that visit we stayed at the Hotel Odysseus because our Hotel Anemousa was full. Hotel Odysseus was just as wonderful as Anemousa and we spent many great hours on our poolside patio overlooking the sea. During our second visit to Folegandros we pretty much repeated everything from our first visit. Folegandros is definitely our favorite spot so far in Greece.

... with a huge piece of feta on top, with spices and al that swimming in olive oil. At the first bite of the feta cheese and the zip of beer or retzina - you get Drunk on the spot. Not alcohol drunk, Milos Drunk. Greece drunk Taste drunk. Then he proposed fried cheese - we took it understanding that whatever he will offer, we are going to enjoy it. The cheese melts in you mouth, the teast makes you sound voices of pure pleasure. Forget about counting ...

... and enjoy. Found a beautiful swimming beach about 3 km from the ship along the waterfront. A lovely walk and great to see the locals just enjoying life. Shops had items for local consumption, not acres of "tourist souvenirs" Should point out our ship only has 700 passengers, so the impact is not as great on a town as one of the big liners we have seen around.

Discovering the beauty of Folegandros

... as a mode of transportation.

Agios Georgios Beach:

We continued on our journey till the very northern tip of the island to a beach called Argios Georgios. This is a nice sandy beach and very quiet, probably due to its distance from the main hub of Chora. It was nice to have the whole beach to ourselves, save for only a few other couples. We stayed at the beach for ...

Today we decided to rent a car! It is so easy to rent thing abroad, we gave them our expired driver license and they thought nothing of it.haha. We did some off roading down some really hairy dirt paths that went right along the cliffs right down to the ocean, had the best time just driving around and exploring. So then decided that we want to drive ...

Milos - Greek Paradise

... disappointing to see all the scaffolding and evidence of repairs going on, never the less, it was certainly awe inspiring. We spent the rest of the day in Athens walking around and finished the evening with Paola, Panos and their friends for dinner. Very nice indeed. We awoke for our boat trip to Milos at 5am - what fun! The boat was a High Speed Jet Boat and did the trip in a little over 4 hours. There was a bit of wind and swell in the seas which made the trip ...
