Historical Traveler Reviews of Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge

Great Hotel, Great Location

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed for 10 days. 6th floor, southern view. Room was not too small (Average by European standards). Very clean and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Restaurant had good food but on the expensive side.

Some traffic noise but being from southern california, it didn't bother me. Pub across the street for quick and inexpensive meal, Knightsbridge tube a block north, bus stop in front of hotel and Harrods around the corner (10 min walk).

A pleasure

We stayed for 6 nights(10/11-10/16/03). We can recommend this hotel for anyone looking into staying in the Knightsbridge area. The staff were wonderful, the room was on the small side, but in Europe this is to be expected and the bathroom even had a heated towel rack. The location was excellent(a 3 minute walk to the Underground), all the boutique designer shops one could ask for, an ATM right across the street. We found two places for breakfast. The Knightsbridge Cafe(across from the Sheraton) is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and a cafe called Arco which is out the entrance by the concierge desk and turn right and go about 100 feet or so. The concierges and bellman were most helpful. All in all the Millennium was a great experience.

A Pleasent Experience

from kerried
My husband and I stayed at the Millennium Knightsbridge Hotel on 09/01/03. We had stayed at the Millennium Times Square in NYC and hoped the experience would be as nice in London. We were not disappointed.

Although the room was small, it was comfotable, clean, and nicely decorated. The location was fantastic especially if having Catier across the street is a key point. Also it was close to the Knightbrideg Underground station and a 5 minute taxi ride to Vicoria Station. The concierge was very helpful and made getting around and getting to the airport very simple. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the breakfast. We were in a rush the day we left so we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant, Mju. Although the staff was very frinedly they were not quite ready to serve people at 7 AM when they opened and it took quite a while to get our food (almost 30 minutes for french toast and pancakes). I definitley recommend staying at the Millenium but find somewhere else for breakfast.

Lovely Hotel

Nice hotel with good location. Rooms are not large, but I doubt that many people will spend a lot time in them because of the wonderfull area around the hotel. The restaurant offers creative and delicious food for dinner.

Great deal

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here last November with the 99/night room rate we found online. It was a great deal! The area is really nice and you are very close to Harrod's, the Tube station and Hyde Park. Our room was beautiful with a towel warming rack in the bathroom and some of the best smelling soap. The rooms are a bit small, but pretty luxurious.

The reception desk staff are very good- very efficient and helpful. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you can get a good rate.

Excellent hotel and good price

from AvidVisitor
This was a top-quality hotel, and a great find in London for just 99 pounds/night. The rooms are compact, but very functional and quite beautifully designed. The bed, bathroom, and furniture were excellent and well-maintained. The staff were also very good and ran the hotel like one that was in a significantly higher price category. The one downside was an unbelievable price of 50p per minute to use the phone, so don't even think of connecting your computer from the hotel room and use a cell phone for any calls you want to make.

Great hotel, best location!

We've stayed at the Millennium on several recent (2001-03) trips to London and have nothing but rave reviews. The rooms are small, but well-appointed, service is excellent and the Sloane Street location can't be beat. We've also been fortunate to get great rates booking online.

Fab Hotel, great location

from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a lovely hotel right in between Gucci and Fendi, which is a shopaholics mecca. The hotel is lovely and the staff are helpful. We have stayed there many times and would not consider going elsewhere (given the quality of some more expensive hotels). Breakfast is lovely but expensive, we usually end up paying £30, so I'd recommend you only try it once!

Great Stay Overall

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed here through a package deal through Virgin Vacations and then extended for three nights. My room was a bit small (similar to Manhattan hotel room sizes) but well appointed with nice furniture, decorations, bed linens, towels etc . . . The public areas (hallways, bars, lobby) are also nicely decorated. There were a couple of flaws in the service but at this level and price it is to be expected. Overall the staff was great and really nice - reception, concierge, housekeeping and room service. The location is fantastic for many reasons - very close to Knightsbridge tube (picadilly line) and other convenient bus lines eg, 19, 137 and night buses as well; between Chelsea, South Kensington and very convenient to Soho, Covent Garden, Holborn and Mayfair for those who like to go out on the town. The food at MJU is ok but not spectacular though it is an all caps restaurant in Zagat. I would absolutely recommend a stay here and would stay again.

Great hotel, even better location!

from ceeceerose
I first went to London in March 2002. I had been planning my trip (and saving for it) for over a year, so I wanted to make sure I stayed in the right location to take full advantage of London. And I sure did! As a die-hard shopping, I could not have found a better located hotel. The Millennium Knightbridge is directly behind Harrods. There is a shortcut out of the back door that leads to a minute walk to the great department store. On Sloane Street itself, where the Millennium faces, are more designer shops that I could image. From Gucci to Coach to Harvey Nichols at the corner. Oxford Street is not that far either, which means ones you exhaust Harrods and Sloane Street, head to other shopping areas.

The hotel is VERY classy, considering the location and the pretty reasonable price. VERY good service, elegant without being too fancy, and basically a fabulous place to spend time (and shopping money) in London!
