Along the way we caught glimpses of the University of Dayton, Wright State University, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. All of it was mildly interesting, and yet nothing stands out.

They seem to love hot weather and damp conditions. It's 35c and we are beside several ponds, rivers and swamps. It's so lush and green ...

... present. It was surprising to see so many British Aircraft, including a rare Bristol Beaufighter. There was also a missile silo-like building housing quite a few rockets. Side exhibits included the Aviation Hall of Fame and a chance to fly a space shuttle simulator (which couldn’t be resisted)!

The afternoon saw us at Carillon Historical Park, touring the many old buildings and exhibits in the 65 acre setting ...
