Went to see 'Aladdin' at the 'Opera House' in Manchester this evening. Borrowing 2 unsuspecting children for cover, we went to see a typical Panto. With bright and elaborate costumes, corny jokes that appeal to kids and adults it was an absolute scream. Best ...
Manchester, England, United Kingdom geoffrhonda... this stage it says 3 countries, which we assume is Australia, United Kingdom and Czech Republic. We are listing 5 countries as we are counting Wales and Scotland! It’s great fun being able to drive to another country.

Our midterm break to Prague and London was a real highlight so far but we have enjoyed the amount of sightseeing we can do within an hour or 2 of Manchester. 4 hours to Scotland has been our longest drive ...
... with traffic, it makes it so very difficult to get around. There is so much to see and do but unless you are committed to stay for a few days, there simply isn't the time to see it all. Yes we were dodging a Cyclone which made the traffiv even worse but having visited the city before, it really doesn't make that much difference - the traffic is simply awful. The trains in and out of Mumbai and to its districts are brilliant but everyone uses them - so be prepared to spend some time ...
Keighley, England, United Kingdom whingerHow could anything be worse than the Ball Breaker? How? And yet it was. Damn the kilometres of bog, damn the no bacon butty truck on the highway, damn the twisty part where you go around curve after curve after curve and don’t see anything ahead of you but CURVE. Then damn the “ ...

See that Campsite?
After almost finishing the part of the Pennine that I call “The Ball Breaker” Ryan points down the mountain to a little campsite in the distance. It was far away but hope sprang back into my heart until he said, “See that campsite? Our campsite is only 2km from there.” YEARGH!!!
Well the day has finally arrived! The alarm was set for 6.00am but we were both awake before it went off. After a quick breakfast we were on the bike heading for a rendevous at Colin's house in Halling in the rain!
After a quick cup of tea, Leigh up turned on his Triumph Tiger and it was time to set off for the Marsden to meet Lyndsey & David & guess what it ...
Finally made it through my last working week in Brum, loose ends bar for one all tied up and had 2 amusing and fulfilling last days, but it feels so good to now be finished.
Thursday I was hitting a bit of a wall (some fatigue, some stress and needed some air) so headed out to the shops and came back with a can of diet coke (UK can which are the small size). Drank it quickly before my first afternoon patient and pow! I was off - a ...
... the beer helped.!! The flight out of KL for London was a little delayed but not much and we managed to catch all that up, finally arriving in Heathrow at around 5.15 in the morning. The flight was pretty uneventful but we were well looked after by Malaysia airlines. Food could have been better though.! Finally we did the last leg up to Manchester where we picked up our car for the journey back to Halifax. Overall a fantastic trip ...
Halifax, United Kingdom travelexiles... I did what I hoped I wouldn't have to do, and wake up Helen to get a ride to the bus stop. She was less than pleased, but a trooper nonetheless, and got me to the bus station just in time to watch the bus for which I held a non-amenable, non-refundable ticket pull away. Fortunately, the bus 40 minutes later didn't charge me extra (or fully) and I still had enough time to make my transfer in London. I got to the MegaBus station where I was told less than politely by ...
