... and looked around but there was no one in sight. We ended up having to tie him to a railing and had to carry on. We saw Ben wizz past us and he told us to go to the observatory which overlooks the bridge. We got to one area which had a lookout with some binoculars which had amazing zoom. You got to see how huge the bridge really was. Then we cycled up a small hill to some steps that went up to another viewing area which was higher up. We felt such a sense ...

... and a short walk later we had arrived at our hotel in Onomichi. Unfortunately at this point my feet are very sore and I am in no mood to go biking between any islands. As it turns out the weather is kind of rainy and gray and it doesn't take much to talk Erika into a rest day. We dine on Ramen a block from our hotel and call it a night pretty early. Nothing to see here, at least that we bothered to take photos of on this day.

... chatting to a Taiwanese woman who told us that the group were part of a health/business conference as the owner of the hotel believes that a healthy body and mind makes for a healthy business. Strangely, when we asked her why her English was so good she said hat she had studied in Edinburgh as well! To finish the bizarre day a man from the group stood up and started playing the saxophone. What an experience and certainly not one mentioned in the Rough ...
