    ... arrived, we hopped onto a bus that took us to the starting point of our boat ride along the network of canals that flow through the city. It was a beautiful sunny day - perfect! There were about a dozen of us that filled the river boat called "donko bune" and we set off on a quiet peaceful journey along a very picturesque route. The floor area is 2,500 square metres, and special permission had to be received before the rebuilding could start with wooden buildings now limited to under 1,000 sq.meters.     ... the bus drivers here is even higher than before.

    In no time at all, we were happily ensconsed in our hotel room and I have written up the blog to let you all know, we have arrived safely.

    Lots of washing and things to do, so unlikely to be much on the blog for a day or two. I am adding a few pictures we took this morning from the bus, because the sun was shining and it looked so nice.

    From Tosu, we caught the Yufuin No Mori 5 Limited Express special train to Amagase. The other group were meant to have caught this train but missed out as there was a problem with one of the carriages. We had about 30 minutes at Amagase before catching the Yufu 74 back to Hakata at 6.08pm.
