A travel day that went so well I managed to go diving too. Philippines Fun Divers in Alona Beach helped arrange a private car to pick me up from my hotel at 5:30 AM to catch the early fast ferry to Cebu City. Got dinged for my luggage of soaking wet dive gear that tipped the scale at 32 kg. The ferry reached Cebu shortly past 9 and once I'd collected my gear I headed for the taxi stand. My original plan was to taxi to the bus terminal then take the deluxe bus to Moalboal. Once there I ...

... you would want to leave a dog overnight … unless you wanted a call from the RSPCA. It would seem I'm over staying in budget accommodation!

Since the room was not somewhere you would want to spend any more time than necessary, we headed out to the Golden Arches for a "cheer Ken up" meal. We spent the rest of the day emailing from a coffee shop, and trying to book up ...

I would NOT stay at this hotel again, and i certainly won't recommend it to my friends or family. When you book a room they require a 50% deposit, which incurs a fee when you pay at the bank, so although the room is 950php its then 36php more expensive, 986php. Then they require a scanned copy of the receipt to prove you have paid . . . . . . gosh its a pain ! . . . . There ...

... though I'm tempted to say it was too short, I wonder if I wouldn't have started getting restless if I'd stayed much longer. If I'm going to be covering such a distance to go somewhere, it seems like a waste to just stay in the same spot for the whole duration, doesn't it? Still, I'm glad that I can now say I've been on a resort holiday. Somehow, it seems more appropriate to cross that off my list of travel wishes than "The Philippines"!

... to Cebu for a night before heading to Palawan so I can go diving at El Nido and then back again to Cebu for a night and then on to Boracay and then Manila to catch our flight out of the country. The flight going to Boracay has a lower weight luggage allowance, so we've decided to send some with their cargo. It should be much cheaper than paying for extra kilos at the check in counter. ...
