... a lady who had 2 ferrets. They sleep 20 hours a day but she would take them out for a stroll on the wall for some exercise. It was hilarious. We also stopped and had hazelnut and chocolate gelato, it was delicious. The man even gave us a free scoop of berry sorbet which was awesome. It definitely made up for lunch. Then we got back on the bus and headed to Whitby. It was another 2 hour bus ride where I couldn't see much but ...

... hard work but since then it's been OK. It was wonderful to run down it and it felt like it went on and on. I knew there were 2 dips down to sea level before the road up to the hall. 2 guys ran near me and it was nice to direct them as they didn't know the route, great to be thanked for helping out. We had a little rain but not enough to put the waterproof back on. I wasn't looking forward to that final sting up to the hall as it always seems like a long downhill ...

Up from the stream and onto to the Moor I forgot we headed down to the Lyke Wake route before we head up to the Cross. It was great to see John Vernon and Mark Dalton there, poor lads as this would be the last check point too so they would be out for a long time.

... we wanted to see him before he headed off. Once again it was a bit of a trek getting back and took about 7 hours. The folks had stayed on at Whitby and told us it was mobbed with the undead on Saturday night....and much more busy than it had been on the Friday. What we had seen was impressive and we may head back next year for the full weekend.......so if it's something you may be vaguely interested in....I'd suggest you visit.
