The location is not the best location but it is affordable, the staff is friendly and rooms clean

... served with our pudding!! We rushed up to the Lirica lounge where we had arranged to meet our new quiz team, Philip and Ann together with 2 ladies from Melbourne, Jo and Sue.
It was a movie quiz. Jo and Sue had won the first movie quiz 10 days ago so it was good to have them aboard. However, the quiz was ‘name that theme tune’. Not Jo and Sue’s forte!! We scored 7 out of 10 but Marino from bloody San Marino and his mob won again.

An epic blog for an epic country
... at around sunset time, they wouldn’t have their normal menus available. They said due to Ramadan, these would only become available after 8.30pm. Instead, they put these streets stalls out where you could buy deep fried snacks the minute the sun went down. These were crazy busy and all the food got sold out quickly. People were getting in fast before the call to prayer at around 6.30pm. It was all very interesting to see how it all worked, but not that fun when ...
The forever scented place on earth!
... stable the living is in Oman. The taxi drive took around 2hrs and we got a very good price (45RO that is approx. 90Euro) Ali took us to the Nizwa fort and to the market. It was a beautiful ride through the mountains and we had the opportunity to see some Oasis. It is incredible how suddenly in the middle of the desert there are towns surrounded by Date Palms.

Living in Luxury
... this amazingly beautiful house overlooking the beach owned by a charming Indian couple (see photos). We are on the top floor and have access to a huge terrace where we sat for a while. Went for a walk on the beach (well I did, Wally had a ziz), and collected more shells - I shall probably be over my weight limit on the plane.
