My favorites were of course Moab, the cool weather of Montana, no humidity, and Mt St. Helen and Ranier. Terry’s favorite was the 1.5 miles of rock crawling on the Fins & Things trail in Moab, how big the mountains were and the signs at Glacier and Mt. St. Helen and the canyon going to the Grand Coulee Dam.
I guess we will have to plan another trip to see the things we didn’t get time to see on this one.
Over and out!!!!
... it was Thai stir-fry, with Salad and
rice. Michelle was in charge of the frying of the Tofu and boiling
the rice. The food was really good, and was washed down well with a
bottle of rose. It was then all around the camp fire as Dessert was
prepared.... Strawberry's and orange fondue. Afterwards it was a
night sleeping on the bus as there was a really good chance of it
raining. Michelle went to ...
On our way to Mammouth Caverns, we stumbled across a Stuckeys, located off I-4 at exit 127, in Pelham, TN.
The store was built in 1965--and from the appearance, hasn't been updated or even fixed up. However, it is one of the few original Stuckeys and is still "American owned", as we were told several times by the lady working behind ...
... great stories to tell, so it was a reminder of the good in most people we meet.
I got to get reacquainted with and old friend and that by itself was a blessing. I got to remember old times with her and to let her know I hope we have lots of new times. And I was reminded that old friends keep a part of you when you go away and how wonderful it is to visit that part when you find each other again.
We also got to visit with another old friend of Tim's and I got ...

Manchester, Tennessee, United States brandonibologna... went by I have come to really like working at Hollandia and I think Thomas has to. I have learned more than ever thought. I began working at Hollandia having no idea about plants or gardening and planting, when customers asked me questions i would quickly refer them a worker who had been here longer than me. But now after four moths working here I feel confident answering question, explaining why there plant has that problem and recommending a solution.
The big day arrived and we set off for the Jack Daniels distillery. The weather was grim - well it's all relative! It was cold (in the 50's. That's Fahrenheit which they still use in the States) and grey. It cost nothing to do the tour, unlike the Bundaberg factory in Australia, and we viewed all the processes and had a lovely smell of the whiskey as it was dripping through the charcoal, which the lady ...
Lynchburg, Tennessee, United States yvonne.stoweWe decided to take the 'Musical Highway' from Memphis to Nashville, so set off on the relatively short journey. We happened to stop at a place called Jackson on the way to pick up some food and as we were driving in we happened to spot The Casey Jones Village! Well, it couldn't be resisted! There were a dozen shops that were old style buildings and a couple of trains. The Casey Jones Railroad Museum was closed so we couldn't pay it a visit but we ...
Shelbyville, Tennessee, United States yvonne.stowe... soreness, except for that caused by camping, we rose to go for more exploration in our newfound wilderness. A small group of us: Tim, an English girl Liz, a Brit couple Laurel and Terry, and our token Kiwi Nath, opted for wandering up a small (in dry season) river, with water crashing against exposed rocks, making ideal spots for lazing in the sun and then dipping in the tepid flow of these Tennessee waters. Whereas Chris took a wander by himself Upon our return ...
Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee, United States swiftys... 3O BEFORE WE WOULD GET TO EAT. WE FIRST WALKED THE SIDEWALK IN BELL BUCKLE. THEN FOUND THE COOK OFF BACK BEHIND THE BELL BUCKLE SHOPS. THEN WE BOUGHT OUR TICKETS. GOT STAMPED THEN WALKED AROUND THE GROUNDS. IT WAS FUN WATCHING THE CONTESTANTS GETTING THEIR FOOD READY FOR THE JUDGES. THEN IT WAS TIME TO GET IN LINE AND PRESENT OUR TICKETS AND EAT! IT SEEMED THE SERVING LINE CONTINUED FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES OR SO ...
