We read about the vibrant downtown area of El Paso and a section near the two bridges used for the border crossing called the Golden Horseshoe. Thought, hmmm, sounds like a good adventure and a chance to get the flavor of Tex/Mex culture.
So we drove down thinking we would get some good deals in this area because this is where the residents of Juarez come across to shop for deals in the US and Americans ...

I stayed at Hilton Garden Inn and got a killer deal on the room. Here's a travel tip: On weekends, look for a room in a business hotel. It would be heavily discounted and they are usually very good rooms.
