From the capital, we walked over to the Historical Museum which was wonderful. It had a great
exhibit about the history of horses in this territory and how important they were in settling the west. Another great exhibit was on the history of coal in WY. We didn't realize that Wyoming still produces 25% of the world's coal and it's the cleanest coal in the US due to a low sulfur content. ...

Spent a few hours at the capital building in Cheyenne, which was beautifully decorated with all kinds of art, including a stuffed buffalo, that weighed 3000 lbs and the 3rd largest ever recorded. ... A lady, who goes by the wonderful name of Marcia Vanlandingham, was enquiring if she could direct me to the most worthwhile places to photograph. Marcia, who is a retired Cattle Breeder, cleared space in her passenger seat, commanded me to hop in her car, and proceeded to whisk me off on a glorious 90 minute tour of her beloved Cheyenne! Day 63: Thanks Giving

Thanks Giving, as you may have heard, is rather big in America. In fact, it's only big here, and it's almost on par with Christmas in terms of Important Holidays. That's why they say Happy Holidays here, because they wrap Thanks Giving and Christmas and New Years under the banner term of HOLIDAYS.

Strange for a country so overtly Christian to shy away from Merry Christmas, but there you are.
