          ... really like the small towns with the local shops that sell local merchandise. The people in these stores are so friendly and treat us so nicely. They seem to think that we talk with an accent but we just didn’t hear it!

          After leaving Petoskey we spent a day in Mt. Pleasant MI. It is the home of Central Michigan University which has a really big campus and lots of students, over 27,000.

          ... We had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. Along the way we saw some giant windmills, cattails lined the roads. We crossed into the US at the Blue Water Bridge - I was terrified driving across it - I hate driving on bridges- white knuckles all the way. It took about a half hour at the customs place because of traffic. But looking over the bridge at Lake Huron was gorgeous.

          ... former owner left an awesome double-decker bus, a telephone booth, a London mailbox and several other vintage items from England that helped give the hotel a distinctive feel. We celebrated the holiday weekend with a take in pizza and the movie channel. I took Tylenol p.m. both nights and thankfully slept pain free.

          ... delay we would still have time to make our connection out of JFK to Reykjavik. So once again we didn't worry, until... I just happened to check "my trips" on Delta.com and found I had been re booked for tomorrow's flight to JFK and then onto Reykjavik but my travel companion had not been re booked.           ... any 5k...it's a MUD RUN!!! hehe. The course has big mud holes, obstacles, and other great fun things to keep me distracted that I'm actually running a 5K (coming from the run-hater).

          Keep checking back as it gets closer to September 1st...I'm sure I'll have crazy panicky thoughts that will need an outlet =) Oh, and go see Eat, Pray, Love. I adored that book, AND my new city will be in it! Ciao! ...
