... to see if there's more pubs along the way than our usual haunt! Just sat down and watched the sunset here for the first time too. We've always seemed to miss it so far. Very beautiful. Off to Oz on the 18th. Feels so weird to be leaving Asia!!! Still have quite a few more lazy days to go here though. Will update with more news when it happens.

Love to all!!

Adele and Lucy
4 Million Mosquito bites and a Bottle of Rum!

Hey all!
Wow Boracay is beautiful. It's real paradise. Miles of white sand and blue sea. I love it. Cheap jewellery, bikinis and rum. Doesn't get much better! Except of course, you guys aren't here! Had a great night out! Sipping rum and coke by our room, when we were invited to join the owner and staff to eat yummy banana cakes stoln from a nearby hotel. They were lovely crowd ...

... where we were staying. We showed her and she said that was her niece's place. We took a quick tricycle ride (tuk-tuks here) to the hostel and checked in. She introduced herself as Betty (bless!) and we've already seen her once again. Might become a bit of a fixture since we're here a while!

Our room is really big with big beds each. Such a nice change form Hong Kong. Full of mozzies though!! We went out for a walk on the ...

... the cost of the ferry to the island (which is only 25 pesos anyhow), so once we ensured that the minivan would be air-conditioned, we hopped in the first one we came across. At first we wondered why the minivans would be so much cheaper than the coach bus but it did not take us long to figure out the answer to that question. They really packed us in this minivan; at least 4 in every row and two people in the front seat. This may have been reasonably ...

The Philippines- got $20,000? You're a millionaire

... us down and says "I don't have principles about this guys, I'll pay for it" which is hard to argue with so I tell the driver, how about 200, 200 to take us back to the airport. I figured I'd at least get the price back to reasonable. The driver puts on this oscar-worthy performance where he is really being pained by this offer, and eventually slams his hand on the steering wheel and says "alright" and starts shaking his head as though he were about to break ...

Sunday and a Night Sail

... waves, very dark. Amazing how lit up the entire beachfront of Boracay is -- looks like Long Beach Island. No lights on the boats, so it was interesting to see sailboats crossing in front of us as dark shadow interrupting the beachfront. Had some misunderstanding about the price, but not a problem. In the future might be better pay in advance for xxx hours. On the way to dinner we stopped at Blue Mango Dive Shop to say hello to ...

... the caves are not too deep. But again, what I noticed was that there are no corals anymore, just a few small fishes. This is contrary to what I read about while researching on Boracay (probably koz' we are stepping all over the bottom?). Another snorkling site, still the same, just a few starfishes and some small fishes. When we got back to dry land, my friend and I went to D'Mall. It's the same as Talipapa, except it had more ...

Erasing the Mirage

... pillows on the floor, watching the Detroit-Cleveland bball game, dancing, eating and enjoying each others' company. Surprisingly, my parents called shortly after we got there so I was able to speak to them for about 30 minutes!!! So good to hear their voices!! It's too bad I was in a VERY loud bar area and couldn't find a quiet place to talk. It was a slow night at Cocomanga's, so we crossed to the beach and sat on bean bag chairs at ...

Kakaiba (different)

... a huge wall of rock behind us. He said a cave stood there and had been their sanctuary escape from the heat of the sun. Crawling in, it was cozy and cool inside and enough head room, a small chance of getting a bump in the head. Here we stayed for at least an hour just inhaling the peacefulness of the place. Another photo-op for me as the lighting the great coming from that one hole we crawled into. Station3: This section is away ...
